The Imelda Top
Romantic, textured, subtle.
 
A plain white tee, with a little spice. The Imelda top is ideal for elevating your outfit without losing comfort. Inspired by our favorite early 2000s popcorn fabric tops, this top is an elgeant yet retro throwback. With a cap sleeve, V-neckline, and cabbage leaf hem, we can't help but picture old school Gwyneth wearing this top. 
 
The fabric is a french style textured cotton jersey with spandex yarn on the reverse side to create a dimpled effect.  The texture calls to mind the surface of bread, reminding us of God’s providence in the desert–manna “bread from heaven” fulfilled in Christ who gives us Himself as the Bread of Life.
 
We named this top after Bl. Imelda, who desired to receive the Eucharist at age five. When she was 9 years old and praying before the tabernacle weeping with adoration and longing, the Eucharistic Host floated out of the tabernacle towards her and she received. She immediately died of perfect ecstatic joy and the room was filled with the sweetest perfume of flowers.
