The Gethsemane Scarf
$80.00
Made of shimmering silk and rich colors, this stained glass inspired scarf is designed as a reminder of God's presence with us through suffering.
- The chalices in the first circle symbolize the cup that Christ agreed to drink from in the Agony of the Garden. They also serve as a reminder that Christ is with us and strengthens us to drink the chalice of our present circumstances.
- The grapes recall “the fruit of the vine” offered at the Last Supper, “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom” (Matthew 26:28-29).
- The grape motifs also remind us to cling to God as He is the vine and we are the branches (John 15:5).
- The roses are a nod to the Crown of Thorns but more immediately to the sweating of blood during Christ’s Agony in the Garden.
- The anemones symbolizes the Passion of Christ.
- Negative space at the center forms a red heart, reminding us of our home in God's heart.
