Who doesn't love a statement piece? This shimmering mermaid skirt is that special piece you can't wait to pull out of your closet for special occasions. Whether you're celebrating your birthday, your bachelorette party, or a night out on the town, the Perpetua skirt will make your feel like an early 2000s style icon. Similar to our Felicity skirt, the handkerchief hem of the Perpetua was inspired by the corners of the cloth that cascades over the altar.

We made sure this mermaid silhouette was comfortable, providing a two way stretch and hidden elastic waistband. The skirt is also lined with ivory jersey and covered by a stretch tulle overlay covered in free moving, transparent drop sequins. Side flares with hankerchief hem allow for freedom of movement.

We named this skirt "Perpetua" after St. Perpetua, who we call upon during the Eucharistic prayers. She entered the arena of her martyrdom singing, a fearless mother, and contributed one of earliest written records of Christian martyrdom full of prophetic visions.

The difference in the texture of the fabric and the large, transparent sequins emphasize how God meets us through our senses – giving us Himself as food.  The sound of the sequins when they move calls to mind the sounds of the Consecration; the moving paten, chalice, bells.  He brings our whole self–the body and soul into this experience of which He nourishes our whole person through the safety of the Last Supper. Christ reveals the greatest mystery to His apostles through a simple meal.
